It was 1988 i was living in Greymouth with my Great Dane and i had done a little obedience training with her and decided i wanted a dog breed to do obedience.  NZ at the time were having problems with the German Shepherds hips and bone structure so i started looking around. I used to visit the Library in Greymouth as they had the Herald and the dogs cats and pets was a great read back then.

 I just so happened to pick up the herald that day and there they were Belgian Shepherd pups for sale, I thought how cool they are those black dogs! Little did i know back then. So after searched the Library for a dog breed encylopedia i found the Tervueren Belgian Shepherd. It was done i booked my puppy, paid for my flight and that was the start of my love affair with the Tervueren Belgian Shepherd.  A great big thanks to Judy and Costas Dedes for selling me that bundle of fluff Pallini Aris.

And what a dog he became the only dual obedience and breed champion Belgian Shepherd ever in New Zealand and he still holds that title to this day. Also included in his title is CDX and ADX which are obedience and agility awards, he was at that point the first belgian shepherd with ADX as well and the first Tervueren with CDX.............................. CH and OB CH Pallini Aris ADX CDX.

So that was where it all began, i was lucky enough to acquire a 4 year old bitch from Mary Cook (Drambuie of Kensaleyre) who got her champion title and she sired my very first BELTAURUS LITTER.
